Description
A village about 4km NW by W of Lower Coldstream and about 4km SW by S of Hielaman Island. Boundaries within Pristine Waters Council area shown on map GNB3796.
Origin
After a well known family in NSW. The eldest son of the pioneer William Cowper (1778-1858) colonial chaplain under Marsden became Premier of NSW in 1857 and a younger son became Archdeacon and Dean of Sydney. (Reed 1969).
