History
In December 1997 Cr Greg Best of Wyong Council proposed that the beach be renamed to honour the men who lost their lives. (Sun Weekly 11 December 1997)
Description
A beach at Norah Head about 700 metres SW of Norah Head Lighthouse.
Origin
This name was proposed because the applicants believed it was the closest unnamed beach to where the lifeboats landed after the sinking of the SS Iron Chieftain in 1942. (Wyong Shire Council letter dated 21 September 1998)
