Maybanke Cove (COVE), NSW Details
Description
A cove in Pittwater which is about 500 m across from one end to the other. The cove faces north. The western end is 150 m north of the junction of Pittwater and Loquat Valley roads and the eastern end is 100 m north east of the junction of Pittwater Road and Fermoy Avenue.
Origin
Maybanke Anderson (16.02.1845 - 15.04.1927) was a leader in the suffragette and womens movements in Australia and an activist in the foundation of the Kindergarten Union. She and her husband owned a house opposite the cove. Whilst living there she wrote a history of Pittwater.
