A locality about 3 km NW of Mount Hyland on the New England Tableland. Boundaries within Pristine Waters Council area shown on map GNB3796.
Origin
Named by the early squatter Major Edward Parke because of its similarity to the battlefield of Marengo in Northern Italy where Napoleons forces defeated an Austrian army. (Atchison 1976).
