Description
A rural place on the Tweed River about 12 km SW of Uki. Also assigned as an address locality.
Origin
From Aboriginal word for to collect or to gather together. Proper form of word was probably kunghah the name being given to a mountain where Aborigines where sent to round up cattle that had strayed. Also that name refers to way the hills contain the area. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
