History

This name was suggested by Ms Wendy Smyth of South Tamworth. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC) sought approval from its Kamilaroi Regional Council and this has been given.

Description

A reserve in South Tamworth. It is within a remnant parcel of a road reserve at the northern end of the Hermitage cul-de-sac.

Meaning

The seating within the park is a circular arrangement which is in keeping with the Aboriginal custom to discuss business and other issues. Ngarri-li means `to sit down`. (Gamilaraay Language Dictionary supplied to Ms Smyth by ATSIC NSW State Office)

Origin
