Name recorded by Joshua Bray on his arrival in 1863 as the Aboriginal name of the local tribe and for tribal land between Rous and Tweed Rivers. (Reference as above).
Description
A town on the Tweed River bounded on the NE by Mayal Creek and on the NW by Rous River. It is about 21km SW of Tweed Heads. Boundaries within the Tweed Council area shown on map GNB3810. Also assigned as an address locality.
Meaning
Thought to be from the Bandjalung-Yugambeh dialect chain. Name of the Moorwooloobah Clan.
