Description
A suburb bounded in the north by the Great Western Highway in the east generally by Jersey Road and Betts Road in the south generally by the rear of residences in Gardenia Parade and Dahlia Street and in the west generally by Greystanes Road. Boundaries within Holroyd Council area shown on map GNB 3709.
Origin
Takes its name from a mansion built by Nelson Lawson the third son of explorer William Lawson (1774-1850). Nelson married Honoria Mary Dickinson and before 1837 he built Greystanes House as their future familt home on the crest of Prospect Hill. The house was demolished in 1926 and the sight is now partially covered by Prospect Reservoir.
