History
John Macarthur purchased the Pyrmont peninsula in 1799 from a sergeant in the colonial forces. The land was subdivided and progress -ively sold off by son Edward Macarthur from 1836.

A bay situated 0.5 km NE of Glebe Island Bridge and 0.5 km W of Pyrmont Bay Pyrmont. (spelling: Macarthur)
