History
Selected by James Buchanan Snr. It lies along the western slopes of Mt Nullum and is still in possession of his family. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
Description
A rural place about 3.5 km SSE of Murwillumbah. It is bounded on the E by the Tweed River and adjoins the localities of Uki Dunbible and Byangum. Also assigned as an address locality.
Origin
Aboriginal. Possibly derived from Gidabal dum dum meaning pardalote (small finch-like birds with diamond markings). Also: Yugumbir dumdumgan meaning chip chip bird. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
