This trig. station was established by surveyors from the Royal Australian Survey Corps in the early 1940s.

A Trig. Station located on Ballina Head atop the Ballina Lighthouse 0.5 km SE of Richmond Hill 1 km SW of Black Head and 3 km E of Ballina.

Ballina Lighthouse Trig. Station is so named because of its location at the centre of and atop the finial of Ballina Lighthouse.
