Queen Charlottes Creek (RIVER), NSW Details
Description
A watercourse rising at the junction of Caloola Creek and Summer Hill Creek. It flows generally NE for about 25 km into Macquarie River just south of the railway bridge.
Origin
Governor Macquarie named the valley through which this waterrcourse runs Queen Charlottes Vale in honour of the then Queen wife of King George 111 on 8th May 1815. (Ref: Lachlan Macquaries - Journal of His Tours of NSW and Van Diemans Land. Recorded as Queen Charlotte Vale Creek.)
