Meaning
Wyong is Said to be Aboriginal word for running water(not verified) (Appleton; 1992). Also: running water; Also: place where Christms bells grow. (McCarthy; 1963).
Origin
Name was suggested by all sporting clubs in the district so as to geographically identify the complex to all of New South Wales.
