Description
A series of plateaus and highlands traversed by that section of the Great Dividing Range called New England Range extending from Whites Sugarloaf in the south some 280 km to the Queensland border. It covers about 21000 square kilometres (8000 square miles) and is generally more than 1000 metres above sea level. The City of Armidale and towns of Walcha Bendemeer Uralla Guyra Inverell Glen Innes and Tenterfield are the principal places within it. (See GNB 1:100000 N.S.W & SH56-25691013414)
