History
Name submitted by Mrs Pontifex for the Mangrove Mountain Districts Community Group.
Description
A gully which starts at a point 6.2 km NW of Mangrove Mountain Post Office and 6.1 km NE of Mount McLeod. It is 2.2 km in length and flows in a southerly direction into Warre Warren Creek.
Meaning
Kumbu is the Darkinjung name for the Aboriginal who was known by the Europeans as Yerin. He came from Long Jetty and was killed in the forest in the 1940s whilst working as a forester.
