Lake was referred to locally as Lake Besef. Council was approached and at its meeting on..............endorsed the proposal to name the lake Lake Kimberley. It was advertised on 15 April 1995.
Description
A flood retention basin in Lot 2 of D P 837285 at Tweed Heads South. The land is owned by Bradshaw Developments Pty Ltd. It is intended to have the lake and surrounding land dedicated to the public as passive open space.
Origin
This name has historical significance for the Bradshaw Group in that its founder the late grandfather of Messrs E and J Bradshaw began the business at Kimberley Grove Roseberry in 1911. The Bradshaws Manufactured Home Estate at Banora Point was named The Grove on this account.The names complement each other and recognise founders role.
