History
Formerly Nganyaywana and Dyangadi Aboriginal land. (Appleton; 1992). Was first settled in 1832 (A-Z Aust. Towns & Cities).
Description
A town on the Apsley River about 9 km WS of Eurapambela Trig. and about 8 km ES of Boree Trig. Station. Is located on the eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range.
Meaning
Said to be an Aboriginal term for the sun (not verified). (Appleton; 1992). Also: sun. (McCarthy; 1963).
