Cliffs Red Wire Saddle (SADDLE), NSW Details
Description
A saddle in the Blue Mountains National Park on the Woodford Range between the localities of The Circles and Bora Ground having The Oaks Fire Trail along this range. The saddle divides Tobys Glen on the east and a tributary of Bedford Creek on the west.
Origin
Cliffs Red Wire Saddle is named after Dr Clifford (Cliff) Turner McElroy (dob 10.3.1925 - dod 29.3.2006) who was a Captain of the Woodford Bush Fire Brigade. Cliff was instrumental in exploring this ridge line for the construction of The Oaks Fire Trail. He tied a piece of rusty wire to a tree to indicate the direction of the trail.
