Dead Womans Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
History
From the time that the jewellery was found the gully was known as Dead Womans Gully.
Description
A watercourse about 1km long. It rises in a small range called Marilba Hills at a point about 800m E of Conroy trig station. It flows NW and N till its confluence with Blind Creek.
Origin
During the days of stage coach travel two women got off the stage at Conroys Gap for a rest break wandered off and were never seen again. Several years later some of their jewellery was found in this gully.
