History
Name submitted by the Olympic Co-ordination Authority as part of the preparation of the grounds for the staging of the Olympic Games in 2000.
Description
A reserve at Homebush Bay bounded on the north by Grand Parade on the east by Showground Road on the south by the westerly extension of Murray Rose Avenue and on the west by Olympic Boulevard.
Origin
The name reflects an essentially Australian term and the active use of the area for dealing with the overflow crowds from events at the Sydney Showground and the Olympic Stadium. (Olympic Co-ordination Authority letter dated 24 February 1998)
