Lake Yarrunga (RESERVOIR), NSW Details
Description
A reservoir formed by the impounded waters of Tallowa Dam. As the dam was constructed at the confluence of the Shoalhaven and Kangaroo River the lake extends from the dam westwards along the Shoalhaven and north easterly along the Kangaroo River. With a maximum supply level of 56m the lake extends some 12km along the Shoalhaven River into Shoalhaven Gorge and some 24km along the Kangaroo River to the vicinity of Bendeela Flat. It is part of Stage 1 of the Shoalhaven Water Supply Scheme is partly within Morton National Park and is located about 23 km north west of Nowra and about 12km south east of Bundanoon.
