Description

A pass on Great Dividing Range about 1500 metres E of Dicky Cooper Bogong and 1 km WSW of Gungartan Trig. Station.

Origin

Named after Sir Herbert Schlink (1883-1962) a foundation member of the Alpine Club in 1909 and of the Ski Club of Australia in 1920. President of the latter for 40 years. Made the first ski crossing from Kiandra to Kosciuszko in 1927. Schlink Pass is the highest road pass on the Kosciuszko main range. Named after him by the Snowy Mtns Auth.
