History
This name was proposed by Keith Paull in response to the Mangrove Mountain Bicentennial Naming Project. (Paull K of Woy Woy naming proposal form 27 June 1997)
Description
A gully which runs from an area 3.3 km W by N of the Mangrove Mountain Post office and flows in a generally westerly direction into Dubbo Creek.
Origin
The name commemorates the Douglass family which owned most of the land on both sides of nearby Dubbo Gully Road. Several generations of this family were born in the area. The creek runs behind the old family home. (Paull K of Woy Woy naming proposal form 27 June 1997)
