A town about 11 km NW by W of Wargambegal and about 3 km E by S of Lachlan Trig. Station.

Meaning

Also: Derived from Wiradhuri and Ngiyambaa gajal for water container with suffix lugu for her or his. (Appleton; 1992).

Origin

Said to be a corruption of the Aboroginal word Kartjellakoo meaning he had a Coolamon. A coolamon is a shallow wooden dish.
