History
The establishment of the Penrith Lakes Regional Park was announced by the Premier of NSW during a visit to the Penrith Lakes Scheme in March 1996.
Description
A reserve comprising Lot 1 DP860391 of 6665 sq metres. NSW Govt Gazette 24 April 1998. The balance of land will be transferred in 3 stages by 2015 and will comprise 6 lakes covering 750 ha a recreation area totalling 1000 ha and an urban area totalling 250ha.
Origin
The Penrith Lakes Regional Park is located within the local government area of Penrith in the suburb of Cranebrook. Transfer of land to the Lakes Scheme will occur in 3 stages - the Olympic Rowing and Canoeing course of about 210 ha following the Olympics about 840 ha in 2005 and about 950 ha in 2015.
