Mcpherson Range (RANGE), NSW Details
Description
A range of mountains being on eastward extension of the Great Dividing Range from Wilsons Peak. It trends easterly for about 110 km to Mount Woodgee. It forms the watershed between the headwaters of the Richmond and Tweed Rivers in NSW and the Logan Albert and Nerang Rivers in Queensland. For its full length it is portion of the boundary between NSW and Queensland.
Origin
Named by Allan Cunningham in 1828 in honour of Major Donald McPherson of the 39th Regiment former Commandant of Bathurst. P.343-344 (Inform. from RAHS Journal Vol 30 Part).
