Description
A village on the Bruxner Highway about 6 km SE of Spring Grove and 15 km E of Casino. Boundaries proposed in Richmond Valley shown on map GNB3746 Boundaries within the Lismore Council area shown on map GNB3628.
Origin
Named after Charles McKee who selected in the area in the 1880s on part of Tomki Station. The McKee family came to Australia from Northern Ireland in 1840 then went north via Newcastle Maitland Williams River to Copmanhurst in 1861 with some family members including Charles later coming to the Richmond.
