History
Name endorsed by North Sydney Council on 18 November 1993. Quiberie is recorded in the GNR as a variant name for Lavender Bay.

Crown Reserve CD 4307 comprising Lots 523 and 4 of DP 807276 Lot 31 DP 12668 Lot 1 DP 175422 and Lot 1 DP 599474. The reserve adjoins Walker Street and King George Street North Sydney

Believed to be the Aboriginal name for Lavender Bay which adjoins the park. `Hulk Bay or Quiberie` appears as the name of the bay now known as Lavender Bay on a map kept in the State Library of New South Wales. The map was published by Gibbs Shallard and Company of Willoughby Sydney c.1880. Ref. M3 811.141/1880/1.
