Description
A village located about 3 km south of Coolac.
Origin
Albert Hugh Petit and his wife Bridget formerly Stuart settled in the area about 1890. The railway station for Coolac located at this site because of the steep gradient at Coolac 3 km south was named Pettitts when it opened in 1946. The incorrect spelling was provided to the Railways Department at the time by a distant relative.
