Francis Greenway (1777 - 1837) an architect was transported to Sydney in 1814 for forging a document. He was appointed civil architect and assistant engineer in 1816 and designed many government buildings. Today they are considered gems of Early Australian Colonial architecture. He was granted land near where the school now stands.
